It's That Time of Year
It looks like the flying season is offically over and that means not much going on as far as the club is concerned. As usual, when the flying season winds down, so does the club news. Since there isn't much going on, the club would like to take this opportunity to remind our members that is getting to be time to renew your annual club membership.

Regular dues paid (you should be sending your renewal checks to Doug Snyder - click here for renewal information/details) before the end of the year can be renew for $40.00, but for those of you who prefer to procrastinate and wait until next year to renew, make sure you add an extra $10.00 for the late renewal fee that the club always tacks on. The short of it, renew on or before December 31st and pay $40. Nenew after December 31st and pay $50. It's up to you. The sooner you renew, the sooner we can get the roster updated. The sooner we can get the roster updated, the sooner we can start getting a mowing schedule put together and the sooner we can get the "Members Only" section up and running.

The BAMS.org Has A New Look
Just in case you haven't noticed, the club's website has a completely new look and feel to it. After spending the past couple of months redesigning the site and updating all of the information, the site is now up and running with a new host. With the new host, we are now able to have the new Events Calendar section for those who prefer to be able to print a calender of club events each month.

As you will also notice, there is a "Members Only" section. This section is still under construction until such time as we are able to get the membership roster updated. Once we start getting the updated roster put together, then we can start putting together the mowing schedule. As the roster and the mowing schedule come together, they will be posted to the "Members Only" section. Because the "Members Only" section will be password protected, we need to have an accurate roster so that only our paid members in good standing will have access to this section.

While you are visiting the website, if you should happen to run across any problems, links that don't work or vid's that don't load up, ect., that haven't been caught yet, please drop a quick note to our webmaster so problems can be corrected and/or fixed as quickly as possible.

Start The New Year Off The Right Way
Don't forget that there are a few of us who brave the weather to get together at the field on January 1st to start the New Year off the right way. For those hardcore flyers who just can't go into hybernation, you are invited to come out to the field on New Year's day and join us for our annual New Year's day club fun fly. We expect to get together starting around 1:00 p.m..

Last year there was about half a dozen of us who braved the clod and the tons of snow we had at that time to get together and have a pretty good time. We cooked up a pot of chile and cornbread and did a little flying. So, if you are feeling frisky, come on out and join us at the field on New Year's day.

A Couple of Reminders
Tom Mekis and his wife will be graciously hosting our first membership meeting of the new year at their home. The meeting is planned for February 11, 2007 and will begin at 2:30 p.m. and this is shaping up to be an interesting meeting. Mark your calendar and make plans to attend. More information and directions will be posted to the website next month.

Again, it's time to renew your club dues. All renewal checks should be made out to The BAMS and sent to our new club Treasurer, Doug Snyder in order to receive proper credit.
