Volume 34 February, 2006 |
||||
As usual during the winter months, there just isn't a whole lot going on and so another short edition. The club's Board of Directors met on January 21st. where the main topic of discussion was the up-coming First Annual Fly-In that is scheduled for June 24th. at the field. More details will be made available during the General Membership Meeting scheduled for February 26 at Tom Mekis' home (if you need directions, click here). As new developments happen, you'll find all the details here. The Board also discussed the fact that membership renewal has been slow so far this year. If you are one of those who has put off renewing or has forgotten to renew, don't forget to add the extra $10 late fee. If you haven't renewed by now, your annual dues are now $50.00. Since we are now officially into the year 2006, members will want to keep in mind that the club is now utilizing the new Points System (see here for more details) to try and encourage more member participation in club events. If you want to keep your annual dues low, then you'll want to make sure you accumulate the huge amount of points (a whopping total of 5 points for the year) before the end of the flying season.
What's New In response to requests from members, a new Member Projects section has been added to the website. If you are building or have built a new plane over the winter, send some pictures in along with a brief description about it and you can have your new project included in this new section. In the mean time, check out this new section to see the Cap that Scott Rudish has put together along with the new Chipmunk that Roy Scott will be flying.
The 2006 schedule of events is now posted to the Events page. Also, the new mowing schedule for the 2006 flying season is also posted to the Mowing Schedule page of our website. You can also review the 2006 AMA Safety Rules here.
