A NEW SEASON IS UPON US It has been a few months since the Windsock was last updated, but a new season is beginning and regular updates to the Windsock. We hope you have had enjoyable offseason building or updating a plane or training on an RC Simulator - whatever your avocation when you can't fly, we hope is was enjoyable! This first edition will be short and sweet. ANNUAL WINTER MEETING The Annual Winter / First General Meeting of the year will be on FEBRUARY 3, starting at 2:30 p.m. Once again, Tom and Susan Mekis are opening their home to us to hold this meeting. The address is 714 Clearfield Road just off Route 422 (Between Kittanninng and Butler). (Remember attendance at a meeting is worth 1/2 point towards your 5 point goal). DID YOU PAY YOUR DUES? Field dues for the 2008 season were due by the end of December. Dues can still be paid but are now $50 (late renewal fee). You can send your check c/o our Treasurer Doug Snyder, 201 East Metzger Avenue, Butler, PA 16001 or can be paid at the winter meeting. Checks should be made out to "The BAMS". "EYES" ON THE FIELD Due to the vandalization that has occurred at the field, Security Cameras are going to be installed within the next few months. The system will be Solar Powered and come courtesy of Dave Chisholm. PRELIMINARY FIELD EVENTS SCHEDULE April 6 - 2:30 pm — General Meeting at the Field April 19 - 9:00 am — Field Work Day April 26 - 3:30 p.m. — Dutch Treat Dinner at the Runway Restaurant May 6 - Training for new pilots begins - By Appointment (to avoid instructors at the field with no one to train) May 26 - 8:00 Memorial Day Breakfast / Meeting at Ear N Park at the Clearfield Mall June 7 - 7:00 am — Annual Yard Sale at the Hemphill's June 8 - 2:30 pm — General Meeting at the Field June 21 - 8:00 am — Annual Fun Fly (Raindate June 28) July 6 - 2:30 pm — General Meeting at the Field August 3 - 2:30 pm — General Meeting at the Field September 1 - 2:30 pm — General Meeting at the Field, Nomination of Club Officers and Picnic September 20 - 9:00 am — Additional Field Work Day October 5 - 2:30 pm — General Meeting at the Field, Election of Officers October 18 - 3:30 pm — Dinner at the Runway Restaurant October 25 - 9:00 am — Last Workday - Field Closing Novermber 9 - Winterization of Restrooms - Time to be advised.The following lot of RC equipment is for sale (as lot):
