Items For Sale

My name is Michael Trabbold and I'm contacting you in regards to, two radio controlled aircraft I'm trying to sell locally and having trouble due to shipping not being an option. I logged onto the AMA site and started looking for local clubs for possible help. I started flying in 1998 and just no longer have the time due to work and other commitments. My wife bought me all this equipment over the past few years but all its doing is taking up space in my back bedroom.

If it would be possible to please pass this information onto your members it would be greatly appreciated All the equipment I'm selling is new and never used/flown except for the O.S. Motor. Feel free to pass my information on to your members if anyone is interested or they are looking for an excellent starting package for a new pilot. Especially with Christmas around the corner.

My Home phone number is 412-731-6334. They can also email me at this address mtrabbold@verizon.net. If someone is interested and calls, just leave a message and number and I will call them back as soon as I get it.

Here is what I'm selling as a complete package. I have attached photos as well. I'm asking $300.00 for everything and can deliver it within reason or meet half way depending on the distance:
1. (Plane 1) Nitro powered .40 Hanger 9 Solo Strike trainer with O.S. .40 size ball bearing motor and MAC performance header. Plane is a flat bottom airfoil shoulder mount which makes it ideal for new pilots. The wing span of this AC is 62 inches with a wing surface of 720 sq inches which makes it very forgiving. Wing has ailerons as well so you can make coordinated flight turns instead of flying with a rudder only. Never been flow but is fully assembled ready to go.

Edit - Motor is not new it was used on one of my other planes but is in excellent condition.

2. (Plane 2) Electric powered Aerobird Extreme. Fully ?ready to fly? electric plane with a 55 inch wing span. Plane uses a V-tail for elevator and ruder controls. Includes two battery packs - 1 1700mAH Ni-cd and 1 2800Mah Ni-Cd. Due to this being a RTF - Ready to Fly Plane it comes with the 3 channel controller.

3. JR Computer 5 channel Radio (servos installed in the Solo Strike). I believe the Model number is XF421EX. This radio comes in a full metal JR transmitter case which holds all the chargers and is padded. This transmitter is also "Buddy Box" compatible so you can be trained properly.

4.Flight Box including various field tools including an electric prop spinner, Power panel with rechargeable 12v battery, Fuel pump....etc......

First Annual BAMS Fly-In

The new Board of Directors have had their first official meeting and they got the plans for our First Annual Fly-In in motion. A tentative date of June 24, 2006 has been set. A Contest Director has been secured. A committee to head up concessions has been formed and the transmitter impound has been put together. As more details become available, they will be posted here on the website.

In order for this project to be successful, the club will be calling on the membership to help out in various ways and means. To pull this off, it is going to involve a lot of man-hours. It is hoped that members will be willing to help out in any way that they can when called upon. The club will need help with parking, concessions, manning the transmitter impound area and with the safety of pilots and visitors. If you would like to volunteer, be sure to let one of the club officers or committee members know.

Fall Field Closing Work Day

It has been reported that for the Fall Field Closing work day that was held on Saturday, October 29th and a grand total of 4.gif (1330 bytes) members turned out to help get the field closed down for the winter. In spite of the fact that, with so many members turning out to help, parking was at a premium and it was a struggle to find at least some work to do for everyone who turned out, the field has now been successfully closed down for the season.

Don't Forget The Dinner! It's Been Rescheduled.

The annual Dinner at the Runway Restaurant that was scheduled for November 5th. beginning at 3:30 p.m. has been rescheduled for the first Saturday in December, which is December 3, 2005 at 3:30pm.

This is a social event where members can get together at the Airport, have dinner with the spouse (everybody pays their own way), watch the air traffic and just have a good time together. There will be a section reserved for the club, so when you come in, just tell them you're with the flying club.

This will be a great opportunity for all of the new members to get to know the old members and the old members to meet the new ones.

Come On Out & Have A Good Time!

It's That Time Again

It is time for your annual Club Dues Renewal. Dues for 2006 can be sent to Thomas Fisher, 612 Center Drive, Chicora, PA 16025. Checks should be made out to Butler Aircraft Modelers. Open Family membership is $40.00 and are due in by December 31, 2005.

Join Us For New Year's Day

There are some real hardcore flyers who, each and every year, bring the New Year in by braving the cold and the snow to have a good time flying. For those of you who are so inclined, be sure to plan on meeting up with us at the field on New Year's Day 2006 at about 1:00 p.m. for some frosty fun. Be sure to wear your long underwear, gloves and ski's (assuming that there will be snow) on our plane. There is even a rumor that we might have hot chocolate and coffee this year.

BAMS MEETINGS and the 2006 schedule of events will be sent out after the winter meeting. Notification of the winter meeting will be sent in time for all to attend.

If you have any ideas that would improve your clubs' newsletter, we would love to hear them. If you have an article or something of interest to share with the club, you can feel free to talk to one of the club officers or email them to the Windsock Editor. This is your newsletter so we welcome any input (good or bad) along with ideas and suggestions.
